DALGUISE ROAD

Standing on Dalguise Road, the rain falls upon her
If only in her mind she is…what more should matter
-Someone is so kind to show the stranger to her door
-Her music bag is laden with the tales of what’s in store
-She wonders if her heart can hold another feeling more
So she stands…along Dalguise Road

Standing on Dalguise Road, the pink hues of wildfire
The rambling hillsides, she never will tire
-Back the road in years when life simply went along
-You’d hear a distant tune that everyone would sing along
-Oh, what she’d give to wander there and stay her whole life long
So she stands…along Dalguise Road

Standing on Dalguise Road, the sun brings the morning
Another town is waiting…she heeds to the warning
-Other voices ring as her guitar is checked in stow
-Until her mind drifts to the point of never letting go
-She’s clear across the ocean though her mind’s still there she knows
Oh, she stands…along Dalguise Road

Standing on Dalguise Road, life is uncertain
Her daydreams seem longer ‘til she lifts up the curtain
-Someone in the pub returns a smile ‘cross the room
-It’s mixed in with the tales of time and Scotland’s lovely moon
-She wonders if she lets it go, will it be gone too soon
So she stands…along Dalguise Road
Oh she stands…along Dalguise Road
