Special Needs

Special smiles

Many times a month, you can find KJ at the bedside of children – and adults – in numerous hospitals and rehab centers. Whether it’s lulling a child to sleep in tonsillectomy recovery or offering words of comfort to a hospice patient or quietly fingerpicking her guitar to soothe a soul or to listen to the wisdom of all ages, KJ is there…and feels so fortunate to be Included in the lives of these Incredible individuals.

Special camps

KJ also feels driven to be a part of several special needs camps for children. "Sharing the soul, seeing deep inside another person continues to convince me that a person's exterior is just the wax coating. The true energy & life is found within." One of the camps KJ frequents is Camp Victory.

Special projects

Two of my favorite projects to support are below. I'm always honored to meet new folks along life's way, to listen to their stories and to join together in hopes of making at least one corner of the world even better for someone. This is indeed the mission of many that I'm proud to call friends.

Houston E. Mull Memorial Cattle Drive -

Each year, I have the privilege to sing and "cattle drive" on a great horse with the best of friends from not only Missouri where this event is held the first weekend in November, but with really kind people from several states all joining together for such a meaningful event...the cream of the crop in characters, that's for sure.

All money raised during this event sponsors scholarships for FFA students to continue education. To hear a bit of Houston's story and more regarding the cattle drive, check out this song or go to www. google.com to pull up even more info directly regarding the Houston E. Mull Cattle Drive event. They don't come much nicer than Brenda and Robin Mull, that's for sure!

"RSD, a Mystery" song by KJ

Several years ago, I was asked by my dear friends, Barbara & Paul Schaffer. to write a song about the very traumatic disease RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) as a theme song to educate the world about this alarming condition. Since I don't suffer from it myself, I felt I wasn't qualified to take on such a project but after much persistence and much education from not only Barbara but many others from the world suffering from this who wanted me to get the word out, I felt honored to be able to compose a "mouthpiece" to the world in hopes for a cure someday. Also, go to www.rsds.org for more info and support.
